WOW! SHE DEFINITELY BROUGHT IT TO A DEAD END. I AM SO GLAD THAT I NEVER LOVED LIKE THAT. THOUGH THERE WERE TIMES I FELT LIKE I COULD KILL HIM, ESPECIALLY WHEN I FOUND A PAIR OF FEMALE UNDIES THAT WERE NOT MINE IN MY BED. We are not monogamous (men perhaps a bit more than women). To insist on a monogamous relationship is one of those conundrums that religion has imposed on us and tends to get violated. When one seeks revenge for an act of unfaithfulness--a religious concept--adultery--by killing the person one desires to "own" by something called marriage, or for their lying, it is really excessive justice.
When are we going to get over all the guilt trips resulting in lying and start living better lives without the sword of religion constantly judging us?
She was deadly serious Jane. Finding two people who are truly and completely in love with each other is so rare. This sad story highlights that fact. Good poem and message.
