Addiction is a cruel animal that cares not about anything else. Help me pray if you do that.

Poem Artwork

No this cannot be true
Since you were born I cradled you
This world is cold and cruel
Forever you have been a jewel

My heart so heavy lays
I haven't seen you for some days
For you are lost somewhere
Come out of hiding know I care

Child crying reaching out
'Can't even feel or come about
Be strong I know you can
We wait since first the day you ran

Serenity is yours
Let go and just hold on that thought
You'll sail to softer shores
The ones you always dreamed about

My daughter got hooked on crack a few years back. Her addiction was so so strong, that she signed off on her own kids. (the oldest was only a toddler at the time) It didn't matter what we said or did, she continued down her path of destruction, until she hit rock bottom. Even after starting recovery, she had several setbacks. I am pleased to say she is clean and doing quite well now, and I hope the best for you and your family.

You are torn in both directions. Caring for your mother and caring about your daughter. Let us hope the tension from both of these eases soon. If poetry helps, write your heart out.

Dear Jane,
It isn't about writing. It's about heartache....heartbreak. I will pray for your child. It's a relentless battle and you need the hands of brothers and sisters lifting you and believing God for deliverance and restoration. Love you, Jane!!!

DEAR, JANE...I NEVER SAY THAT I 'KNOW' HOW YOU FEEL, UNLESS I REALLY DO AND I DON'T HAVE TO TELL YOU, YOU KNOW, I'VE BEEN WHERE YOU'RE AT AND STILL AM NOT COMPLETELY OUT OF THE WOODS YET. MY FRIEND, THE ONLY WAY I MADE IT THROUGH AND, CERTAINLY, THE ONLY WAY MY 'SICK' CHILD MADE IT/IS MAKING IT THROUGH IS BY THE POWER OF JESUS! IT'S ALL I KNOW, IT'S ALL I CAN GIVE...PRAYER WORKS! AND I KNOW AT A TIME LIKE THIS, OUR MINDS AND HEARTS ARE FILLED WITH PAIN FOR OUR LOVED ONE, BUT SOMETHING TO REMEMBER; JANE, GOD LOVES HER MORE THAN YOU EVER COULD! HE KNOWS WHERE SHE'S AT AND HER THOUGHTS AND HE IS YOUR BULWARK! YOU'VE GOT TO HANG IN THERE AND KNOW THAT HE IS 'STILL' IN CHARGE AND WILL HEAR YOUR PRAYERS. SO WE DON'T STOP...THROUGH THE TEARS, THE DOUBT, THE DESPONDENCY...WE HANG IN THERE BY FAITH AND CONTINUE TO CRY OUT TO JESUS. FAITH, FAITH...THIS IS WHEN WE FIND OUT WHAT IT REALLY MEANS. WHEN THERE'S NO LIGHT, WHEN THERE'S NO REASON TO TRUST, WE STILL TRUST GOD AND WE PRAY, PRAY, WE PRAY AND WE BELIEVE THAT GOD IS MERCIFUL AND WILL BRING OUR CHILDREN OUT! I LOVE YOU AND I HAVE PRAYED AND WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY. YOU'RE GOING THROUGH A STORM BUT NOT ALONE, JANE, GOD IS WITH YOU...MAY THE POWER OF HIS PEACE KEEP YOU AND MAY YOUR CHILD BE RESTORED TO WHERE SHE IS ENABLED TO MAKE THE POSITIVE DECISION THAT WILL BRING HER OUT OF THE VALLEY SHE HAS FALLEN INTO. HOLD ONTO 'HIS' HAND, MY FRIEND, HE'S ONLY A PRAYER AWAY. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND ABOUNDING FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATION
