When raising your children
You never think about the day
The empty nest syndrome will come
That time is too far in the future
To contemplate or even grasp
The concept of how you will feel…
Time passes much too quickly
You blink and your babies are now grown
Hard to fathom where all the time has gone
The empty nest syndrome
Takes your breath away
Your cellphone or the doorbell seldom ring
The loneliness at times is stifling
Then out of the blue comes
An invitation to dinner…
You know all too well the secret that will be told
Even before you are handed the picture
Saying, “soon to be grandma”
Through tears of joy you are filled with hope
A whole new life begins
As you hold your grandchild for the first time
The circle of life continues…
You finally realize in the cycle of life
That the best gifts are given to Mothers
When God gives us our grandbabies~
