Circum-navigating…in my Minds Eye, Part VI…

We decided to skip our trip to Anchorage,

Juneau, Alaska our only anchorage there,

Dropped off the special “K” twins, our stowaways,

Gave them to the polar bears and northern lights,

They will show them a good old time, no doubt where…

We are in the northern Pacific, cold it is & stormy,

The storms that form to hit Washington start here,

They are in for a bad one, as it is, we are near…

We are cruising along the edge of the International Dateline,

In the center almost between North America and the Far East,

Here you can see nothing but black, planets so bright, stars a feast,

Sure the weather is kinda rough, the stabilizers getting their workout,

Rufuz is starting to get his sea legs; four are harder than two, at least…

Waves the size of mountains, no ships on the radar, no sounds but sea,

Maybe here I can get some rest in the off-watch bunk, we will see,

Auto-pilot engaged, our course set into the computer,

Proximity alarm on loud, in case my dreams take me to deep slumber,

Would hate to run into another ship, and be called that of a bumbler…

So to sleep we both go, to awake to a better day, we hope,

Oh my, rain has just started, better check the controls, all is well,

Before we go off to dream land our ship she is so swell…
