Nothing else but horror can this be, I hate the dentist, would rather die, LOL!

“I Give Up”

I can’t walk, I can’t talk, I can’t write (whoever said I could?)

My tooth is giving me hell; please don’t balk,

I am a man yes, but a little kid when it comes to pain,

I cry, I scream, I beg for ice cream, yes I am lame…

I have to break down and call the dentist on the morrow,

I don’t want to do so, as it costs an arm & leg, I am in sorrow,

But the pain in my jaw is more than I can take,

I mean really, and I do not herein fake,

Cold on the inside; makes it feel pretty good,

Cold on the outside works okay too, but not as good as it should…

It’s been too long, I have held out as long as I can,

Tomorrow I have to do for myself what I most fear,

No not the butcher with a knife, nor a hangman with a rope,

No, not even death with his scythe,

Tomorrow I go to see the dentist, oh dear,

If I die on the way, I will be happier than I can make clear…

I don't remember the last time I went to a dentist--I hate going to the dentist. Not only do they drill your teeth, they drill your wallet also. And I swear when they give you a shot they TRY to inflict as much pain as possible, like if they don't then you won't be getting your money's worth. Hope your pain goes away soon.

you're not only looking at a stormphobic, you're also looking at a dentist-phobe *BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR* i'd rather they cut off my arms and legs than to go to the dentist

hope you feel better--have you tried putting vanilla extract on your problem tooth? don't drink it, just rinse with it--works for me

Ed, I had to log back in to comment on this gem...
I liked your verses

'No not the butcher with a knife, nor a hangman with a rope,
No, not even death with his scythe'

I literally laughed out loud...not at your pain but your very clever way of describing what is one of our most greatest fears. Great write!

Nothing worse than a darn toothache, Poet!!! Well almost nothing…lol. I am quite sure you realize not only do they inflict PAIN on You when they do their thing, but You also have to pay them to do it too!!! (OUCH). I think THEY are the one’s who invented S&M…I hate going to the Dentist… Now remember Big Ed, this is only going to be a little bit uncomfortable… bull crap!!! It’s going to be the most painful moment in your life!!!… I feel for You Poet, I really do!!! Don’t forget to get your lollypop… Better You than Me… Tranquil Peace thru Pain.

Ed, run out and rent the movie, Castaway, with Tom Hanks. Stranded on an island, he has to yank out his own tooth - no dentists available. Very instructional, and I hope to use his technique - if and when Rebecca gets a toothache.
