Most times it does seem I am a pessimist,
When I went to interview for the job,
I found I liked being the optimist...ed

Poem Artwork

It’s up to us to make the grass greener on “our side of the fence!”

Unusual it is for me to be very positive,

My life up to now has been rather causative,

I did go to the interview today with an attitude of optimism,

As it seemed to me that I am the only one that has acted out of pessimism…

It does seem, that after turning fifty,

My mind did a turn around, wishing for long-term happiness,

Rather than short term satisfaction,

My desires for “found” money, like that of winning the lottery,

Have shifted, making me feel it would be better to earn,

Rather than becoming rich overnight and in one fell swoop,

Seems I have become my father, at times he was so stern…

I don’t say that I would not like to win something,

As like anyone I am willing to become wealthy,

But of late, I seem to feel more desirous of being healthy,

Keeping to a diet, oh yeah fat chance, with the emphasis on fat,

Or better yet keep taking the drugs the doctor did prescribe,

My body finding long-term health and such and like that…

I may not be able to keep this great attitude,

But for what it is worth, thanks to those out there that have helped,

Maybe like one certain person or just a few, that have at me yelped,

Keeping me in line, keeping me on the straight and narrow, so fine,

I do offer to all, those know who they may be, much gratitude…

Great that you are finding the positive. To add to Ted's thought.....sell the car, pay the tax and with the left over money buy a used car and drive for free :-) Yea I know how to budget :-)

If the grass gets greener on my side of the fence...my husband let the bloody cows eat it.....not me.....grrrrr!!

What a bummer hey!!

No wonder my head is in such a mess...lol...and I picked the ocean to become my sole partner!!

Ted's got some 'words of wisdom' there below... Sigh, yes, instant riches are the dream of all of us. Your cautionary tale hits the spot, though, Eddie M... I sometimes marvel at the universal truths you bring us, in fine rhyme... like a mirror, you hold it up and I see myself. (can't wait to hear how the interview went!) smile...... katy xox.

Those women who won a FREE car on Oprah, also won a seven to ten thousand dollar tax bill. Ain't life grand?
