Trust me this IS HORROR!

Withdrawal…?

Made it this far,

Didn’t think I could,

Wishing for a joint,

Surprised I got to this point…

Frustration, tension and anxiety,

Seems to be part and parcel of my sobriety,

Would prefer not having this kind of notoriety,

Perhaps I could just use some kind of variety…

One little hit, won’t do me too bad,

Would I miss the mark when a test I do take?

Making me lose this job, then I would be most sad,

My future for a short time in the crapper,

What the hell is the difference, worth so little am I anyway?

My future at this very moment in time is totally at stake…

Understand if you will, the only way past this monkey,

Is to write about it, almost like talking in person,

I guess I really am, even though I would not care to admit it,

A drug addict, a pot addict, nothing else can I call myself but a junkie!

Man it surely does feel better to admit that to myself,

As well as whoever does read this, beyond that of the self,

Maybe I should just put myself on display,

The fervent druggie putting himself for the world to see, up on a shelf…

Keep your little fingers OFF, Ed! Thank god you write it... with your usual banter and your humorous edge, they'll choose you for sure. Sail through the tests, first. You can do it! Yessir! (smile) katy xox.

Life is srious and you will make it, because life is worth what it will require from you. I don't speak from experience, but from faith in a good man who wants to do better. My best support to you- since your friends and I believe in you as a member of our family of poets. Therefore, we can love you without your doubting it. - Bill

Ed, I honestly do not know what to say other than getting a doctor to write you a scrip for its medicinal use. These test these days are very good at catching use. Most companies allow up to a certain level to be allowed in your system as secondhand smoke...but it is such a fine level that any usage in the last thirty days will show as unacceptable. My suggestion would be to stall as long as you could on the hire in and fight the monkey.
good luck thru it all.

always look at the bright side, no more munchies ... keep strong, i'm sure you'll endeavor to overcome your problem ... admitting to it, is an important step ... it doesn't matter what anyone thinks, all that matters is how you feel about yourself ...

I love this... especially the ending. The fervent druggie for all the world to see. I wouldn't take a chance with the test. All will catch recent use and many will go back to your first hit... ok, maybe not that bad... lol! I hope you don't risk it.

In the End: Apocalyptic Poetry by Debra Kraft

In the end they'll all be dancin'--all them ones that didn't die.... Dance with me in the shadows amidst the lightning and the thunder, and all that nu-cu-lar debris. See the big bang from the other side, and then open that cellar door. Go down into
