The Wagon

Jumping off is easy, getting back on is the hard part...

The Wagon…

Not easy is the wagon to stay on,

It bumps over ruts; it jumps over hurdles,

Forget the horse he ran away with the reins,

But still the wagon does wallow along,

On wheels so bent under weight one could not comprehend for long…

Jumping off is easy; just do so, light up, take a shot, puff on it hard,

Or stay on and just take those anxieties and stuff them down, pard,

Cause getting back on that wagon, as it is pulling away at speed,

Is very, very hard, you will most likely have to run, yes, you would need,

Tripping over the same and ruts and bumps and even a little seeds,

That the wagon does hit and almost turns over from the crash, so please…

Don’t jump off in the first place, use that strength of will,

Character being one of your power points, but even still,

You will face off with the devil, the one that makes you swill,

Or smoke or puff or shoot or eat to your fill,

Either way you have to be the judge, you have to take control,

Before you do fall back down into that deep, deep black hole…

This was very like peering through a window to your head, where you are having a pep talk with yourself. Then again, it's sound advice, written with an edge and a teaspoon of tongue-in-cheek... or, cheeky, as I say. (grin) Go get 'em, Eddie M...... Keep the faith, BABY! yahaha! katy xox. The whole peanut gallary is pulling for you!

It can truly be a deep deep black hole - if we let it.

Extremely powerful piece, my friend. Hope you hang tough.

I really liked this poem. I think we can all relate to this one. Each & everyone of us has something that we are trying to overcome. Whatever it may be, chocolate, drugs, beer, etc. So hon, you are not alone on this wagon. We all are struggling with something. So, just hang in there. Things will get better!

Love......Rene' xxoo
