Somehow or another this came to me in another dream...

Changes…

In the 50’s and 60’s,

It was “Dad can I borrow the car?”

Now its, son can I borrow your car?

Mine is in the shop and yours is better…

Split level back then,

Condo’s and duplexes now…

Short hair and clean cut then,

No hair, earrings and pants below the crack, now…

Smoking & motorcycles a way to get your parents ire,

Practically gotta kill someone today to get in the muck and mire…

Donna Reed, Father Knows Best & Leave it to Beaver then,

Survivor, crime scene and autopsy footage, not to forget phen-phen…

Eat your breakfast; finish your milk and orange juice way back when,

I’ll get a cup of coffee and a bagel on my way to school not to offend…

So many changes, so many differences, can’t picture them all,

In a mere fifty-year period we have gone from bobby sox to socking

                                            Bobbies…

You have interesting dreams... either that, or you've been hanging out with Frankie Avalon.. LOL. I still wear 'bobbie sox'... if something's comfy, I'll wear it... I'm cool anyway! hehe

I had great fun reading this... strolling down memory lane with my pal Eddie M. Thanks. (grin) katy xox.

Interesting observations and well written. I still prefer the long hair but I suppose that is part of my generation :-)

It is amazing what changes have occured in our world in the last 50 years - and I, for one, often long for 'the good old days.'

"Changes" shows as we grow.

Some nostalgic lines in "Changes" are very inspiring.

Healthy Long Life, Poet!
