What is happening to our youth…?

12-year-old girl strangles younger sister to death over a hamburger…

12-year-old boy stabs 9-year-old sister over a chicken potpie…

Are our youth growing to be hoods?

Is this the way all over our earth?

Or is this just an American thing?

Should they not all celebrate their youth and sing…?

I realize that times have changed,

Gone are the values and morals of the past,

Children killing and raping other children,

Seem to be the norm in this day and age,

But when and how did it all change,

How did children switch from being cute and do it so fast…?

Children tried in courts as adults,

Sociopath’s some have seemed to become,

Psychotic drugs now used on some,

Are we doing good by them?

Or are we making them worse, taking away their natures of fun…?

Is there a way to go back to the way children used to be?

When we were kids we played and used our imaginations,

We played at war, but have not gone out as adults and started any,

We surfed and did sports as kids, but if someone else won,

We, nor our parents did try to kill them or even call them names,

Sportsmanship and fair play was taught us all,

Even baseball, football and basketball players that had fame,

They knew sportsmanship and how to take loss without in court making claims…

Where are we headed, what are we to do,

When kids do brutalize kids and kill,

What can we expect when their generation does reach maturity?

Hopefully by that time I will be dead and buried high on a hill…
