Just talkin' to myself, I guess...?
In the Early Morn… Unable am I to sleep, As soon as I lay I start coughin’, No cold do I have that I know, Maybe it is the coffee I drank, If I stay awake much longer, I will sleep permanently in my coffin… Rufuz as well does stay awake, Lying next to me just for my sake, He stands vigil, ears at the ready, Helping me to stay altogether steady… Ah to sleep, yes even perchance to dream, Said it was before by someone greater than I, Wish that I could do so without drugs, Though for tonight it seems I must do without hugs, Even virtual ones would tonight do me well, Wish do I to be able to shed this nightly scheme… © ed ~ 8/23/05

nice write, joisy... go into those sleepless nights all too often. damn, that time allows for so many memories to haunt me. usually just get up & read.

Rufuz is a true pal, and some virtual hugs from me mutts are on the way, too - and if you still can't sleep, try a 'chick flick' movie - they will knock you right out.

I sleep the best when I want to stay awake and I stay awake when I want to sleep the most. I have learned to turn off the TV and not allow myself to get up and do stuff. At least my body will be resting even if I can't fall asleep. Coffee or soda with caffeine after about 1 PM will keep me awake too, Ed.
