End of the world seems to be on my mind of late, in my dreams as well...not sure why, do I...ed

Radioactive Snow...

Mid summer in the northern hemisphere,

Only shark movies for the populace to fear,

The sky so blue, little wind & life seems so clear,

Sitting on the beach watching the kids frolic,

Life is good, drinking a beer…

The ground did then shake,

A flash in the distance as if the sun did break,

The sky then becomes opaque,

First felt a hot wind then the first summer snowflake…

Hot though it may be,

The flakes do start to fall,

The weather seems crazy,

The distant sky is hazy…

The radio stops playing,

Cars do no longer run,

No longer is there electricity,

This summer is no longer fun…

Fear grips the populace,

You of your children embrace,

This day, this time you wish you could erase,

No more beach days it seems is the case,

Radiation sickness then death,

The world in general has been defaced…

In the End: Apocalyptic Poetry by Debra Kraft

In the end they'll all be dancin'--all them ones that didn't die.... Dance with me in the shadows amidst the lightning and the thunder, and all that nu-cu-lar debris. See the big bang from the other side, and then open that cellar door. Go down into
