Teddy Roosevelt said it right a hundred years ago...

We have with immigrants grown strong, In the past it seems our mix could do no wrong, We flew one flag, that of ours for freedom, One National Anthem as well our song� Of late illegal immigrants have protested for rights, Since when do folks without citizenship reach for these heights, I am all for them gaining their rights legally, But to protest for their cause, as non-citizens, they have no right� Let them go through the same system others do, Make the sacrifices, get their green cards, allow them to accrue, Also please learn the language of this your new mother country, Instead of taking jobs and spending the money on a tattoo� � ed ~ 5/11/06

It really angers me that the very country supporting illegal aliens' "right" to be here doesn't even treat their own legal immigrants with any respect or dignity.

As long as we cater to them, why should they bother to change? Every grocery store, etc. has signs and labels in their language.

Exactly. If you come here to live, act and become an American in the legal sense then fine! if you come here illegally and then expect to be treated with respect and dignity...No comprehende....go BACK to your home. Either live up to the standards of America...or get the Hsdes out. We don't want to pay for your illegal butt or your baggage.

No politician today would have the guts to say what Teddy said those many years ago and it is as right today as it was when he said it. I had not read this before so thank you so much for sharing it.

whoa heavy words. i agree, all should have to go thru the same process to gain the rights we have, they should not be obtained easily or they are taken for granted.
