Long time since last I rode a bicycle...

Poem Artwork

What with skyrocketing fuel prices

I put my bike back on the road

To the store last night I rode

And home but about two miles…

Today my back is throbbing

But I did enjoy the ride

Will have to work up to it

May have to in future do

Less pedaling & let it glide…

I sincerely hope

That more riding will

Strengthen my back

As I find it hard with this pain to cope…

ED - LIKE ALL THINGS - MODERATION IS THE KEY!

Have you looked into YOGA? Chiropractic? My daughter is an Instructor in Y - son has a C practice, so I might be a tad biased, but they both SWEAR by it! PROPER EXERCISE, not just ANY! Wrong ones AGGRAVATE the problem.

EXAMPLE: sore back pain - 25 years ago, I used to put a HEATING PAD on it for HOURS - WRONG! Requires MOIST HEAT! Soak towel, squeeze out excess H2O, wrap around heating pad (a GOOD one, don't want NO LECTRACUTION) -

sometimes need to alternate - HEAT - COLD - HEAT - COLD - contraction & expansion of muscles -

TAKE 2 ASS-BURNS & CALL ME IN THE MORNIN'! TK.

The more you use it, the less it will hurt - remember that. :) And you'll be fitter and trimmer than you thought possible! An excellent write to prod the rest of us to follow your lead - see you on the Tour de Joisey! LOL Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

I applaud you ED for doing it! You will get stronger and perhaps feel better because of it, if you can work through the pain, until you get used to it.I'm praying for you for work, and I'll add this to it;-) Happy Biking!...ET

Just think Ed in the long run what this exercise will do for you and each day it will be better. Great write, you need a nice back massage.

Well this will do you a wonder of good, but: how to carry all those groceries? In Salt Springs where I live the only food store is exactly 2 miles from my house, so I'll be doing the same. I hurt my back boarding up for the hurricanes of 2004 and it still bothers me. I've found that only gentle yoga stretches seem to help, but you have to do them everyday (something I don't always do) Good luck...
