Shorts on a increasingly worse situation…

Poem Artwork

Unwanted…

I seem to be unwanted,

I apply then get shunted,

I am feeling quite stunted,

I have time left, but not much,

So far I’ve used unemployment as a crutch…

Welfare…

Should I of it take advantage,

What else can I do, my job I did mismanage,

No jobs seem to want me,

Or in this economy, maybe they don’t need me…

Medicaid…

No medical insurance have I left,

Another question with no answer,

The job crunch I have felt this time,

The only skill I have is that of theft,

But I’d rather die than to use of it,

I would again feel like slime…

Lost…

I don’t know what to do,

Feeling again just so blue,

Maybe I am not worthy,

Of again ever working,

Should have kept my last job,

Instead I was around jerking…

Now, you are in the dumps again, maybe PeeWee, Mom and my self should pay you a visit (despite The State of Jersey's aroma and you don't taking a bath for years...) and get some of our mind to sett you stright.

Sorry to hear about your screw-up, but you're not a dumb guy so figure it out and stop whining. It doesn't become you. I've been a lot worse off than this. Gimme' a break. Get your balls back, survive and hire me when you make it. ;) B&E is NOT the key...though a key is always good...ignore that.

Just wake up. It'll work out with a lot of work. Just do it. For real.

this is one time, it HAS to get better, not much left to be worse

You're an optimistic guy Jersey, that's why it is so hard on you, for you have to be really down and out, before you get going I think.
In the meantime I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.Blessings!

Desperate times
Breed desperate crimes
From desperate men
Wondering when
Or if ever
Their ship will come in.

Hang in there brother.

Could you not apply for a job as an orderly in a hospital. Often hospitals or nursing homes need good men. I do know that can be a depressiing thing having worked in nursing homes, but it is a quick hire if they need you. Maybe it isn;t your thing though, but the pay is good too. I know I only worked 3 months as a nurses Aide but loved it and they hired me through an agency. I was just a little younger than I was today and you are so young yet, you could do that work. You are a people person too. Many men like you are needed in that profession too. Just a suggestion that came to my mind.

We all make mistakes in our lifes especially when it comes to our work but there is always something just around the bend if we keep looking. It may not be as good or high paying as what we had but it will be a foot in the door. Hope you find something soon my friend.

It can be a cruel world Ed and often we have to learn by our mistakes which we all make. If one has to go on welfare, remember it is there for those who need it, so use it until work comes along, and work will come along. The problem is with those who abuse it, there is a difference. keep your spirits up for better days ahead.

Wonderful poem. Humorous, but with a touch of reality of our economy.
Loved it.
