On sand covered backwoods roads,

Where darkness to hikers bodes,

The silence deafening, only the sound of toads,

The pines overhead have their own codes…

They overhang & attempt to cut off the breath,

Grabbing at peoples bodies and heads,

They attempt to scratch paint jobs on 4x4’s,

Better it is to safely stay home in your beds…

No fear have some, but missing anyway they go,

Sucked they are below the sands, their memory does away blow,

Warned all are to stay in the middle of the trail,

Rather then to become the reason for the pines,

Having an odor that some have called quite stale…
