Please God, I want MY legs back...

Not the ones the hospital gave me to come home,

Not the ones attached right now,

I want the one I used to walk with and drive,

They are the pair that I do now strive…

Takes time I hear it said,

After all I was once nearly dead,

But I need a car & the ability to walk,

Those two things would help me to feel complete,

Sure sounds to me right now that that would be neat…

Though the pair I got are feeling a bit more strong,

Even without rehab I have of myself impressed,

God has given me more strength that I thought I had,

Please God, allow me to do better with as little as can be wrong…

You didn't get this far for nothing, Creator wants you to keep on,or He wouldn't have brought you back from death. Your legs will grow stronger only if you keep using them. My love and prayers are with you Bro. Your humor is a blessing!

You have prayed. Now believe. It took me seventeen years. Today it seems like yesterday. No crawling, no walker no canes and no pain. PRAISE HIS NAME My life has never been better. He even gave me a better lifestyle. Keep trusting. Keep believing. He kept you here for a reason. You are now HIS.

Know what you mean, Ed. When weak.ness and injury or illness take away the familiar, it's like, who DOES this strange body belong to? Know you're in my prayers, and keep searching God - He will answer in His time, His way. And aren't we typical humans: hurry UP, God! LOL Loves ya -

Ed God has His reasons for making you take your time, He probably figures you need the time to collect yourself and strengthen your body after all you have been through a lot. Listen to Him. Take care.

Geez, a lot has happened since I've been away.
I'm in Jersey- not close enough I suspect to offer any helping hand.
Just know you are of value here that can't be measured.
So glad you are a trooper. Humor saves my butt every day.
It certainly isn't smelly in my neck of the woods.
I guess the neck usually isn't the smelly part.

Hang in there old chap you've come a hell of a long way and by golly you still write in your own unique backwards style. That's a good thing. Patrick

So just how do you rate a poem like this?
I'm used to writing humour which makes me unqualified to comment properly.
But I can see a 'good write' here. That's all I will say for now.
except..Keep writing.

Lil'brother, you went smack right on Death's wall and bounced back to us, stop nagging the Big Boss about your legs, be happy because we are happy that you are still around and bouncing! In no time you will be again our beloved pain in the ass from smelly Jersey State!!!

You're in my prayers, Ed; have courage! It will take time, but you will get there; you just have to have faith and continue to lean on God; He WILL get you through this time of recovery!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(

Our church is praying for you; we have many people who are continuing to lift you up in prayer, so your hide's covered! You don't have a chance! :)
