Sandy doth approacheth...

Who's skeered of the big bad storm,
She will huff and puff,
And blow a house down,
Wearing the outfit of a red-nosed clown...

Poem Artwork

With her arms ready to around us wrap,

Moving slowly up the coast cranking out the rap,

Skirting the Carolinas for a different change,

Then heading into our neck of the woods,

Rarely do we see storms in our range…

Her power may be less intense,

Once she does cross the Jersey shore,

But powerful just the same,

Certainly she won’t be in anyway lame…

Wish I had the ability to surf,

But the old back won’t deal with that,

Those waves would be really fun,

Just give me one kickin’ ride,

Then with Sandy will I afterwards abide…

The news features look truly dreadful, Ed, so hope you've put that surf board to good use in a more practical kind of way and have your butt above the waterline. A tweet has got to me that you're safe, so hope that's accurate and God be praised! Looks like you should have held onto your motor launch to convert into a houseboat, though... May your life be blessed with companionship, kindness and compassion right now... and may you and your big heart give the same. Love and prayer always, Kate xx

The predictions and news reports are necessarily dire for those who do not heed the warnings. Hopefully, it will be less than expected. On the other side, I remember your power outages before, and I don't think you'll like being without power for a week or so. We have been very lucky lately down here in Texas, not having those regular storms that wreck havoc.

Keep writing and reporting as long as you can before the power goes out and try not to be too stressed because that's something you can't afford.

Be well, take care, relax, and ride it out.

I really hope you're hunkered down and prepared, Bro. 50-60 MPH winds heading your way, lots of flooding, and downed power lines on the way. Been watching news video of the Jersey Shore. It looks real nasty, and you could lose power for quite awhile. Be Safe.

I'm concerned for you! Anchor your home
to the ground Ed... been up since the wee
hours watching to see what is still
predicted...

Oh, and if the sea wall of water they predict
will occur, let me know what you want for
breakfast! Providing your home is seaworthy
you may end up moored on the shore of Lake
Michigan... I'll keep a light on for ya :)

These Black and Blue Red Zone Days by Aberjhani

Just as life during the pandemic was color-coded with different hues representing different levels of danger, life in its aftermath has become shaded in similar ways. As a self-styled “Seeker of Beauty with Beauty,” (borrowing from a quote by W.E.B.
