...where do I go now, nowhere thats where...

Poem Artwork

Traveling to Missouri,
Camp Jeep our destination,
Rufuz & Rene in attendance,
One year in the distant past that was our vacation,
Drove our Southwind with Jeep attached,
It showed and gave to us or independence…

The heat in Branson, MO unbearable,
Nothing before or since we’ve found comparable,
We went there through St. Lou,
As Rene couldn’t read a map if her life depended on it,
Couldn’t find us a way around the city, we went straight through…

That was our last motorhome trip,
The old wreck became only my home,
Cold in the winter with no insulation,
Would have been nice if she ran again,
We got our money’s worth out of her,
Now probably the only thing inside of her that does stir,
Are the ants that have likely taken over her innards,
Never again will she have the pleasure to stop at a gas station…

Jerry said it best, you have your memories and those

Glad you were able to take her out on the road when she was still alive. I never thought of Branson as being a "hot" spot except with the geriatric crowd. If you think that that motorhome was cold, you should have lived with Willie in that boxcar. ;-)

With a busted hydraulic clutch, we drove straight through St. Louis one day looking for a parts store in that worn out 62 Sprite of Nick's, only to shift when the car was moving. Those old memories still are fun.

To get your money's worth out of anything is a good deal, plus you get good mileage out of memories.
