Wind invertebrate

It leeches into your dreams...

Comes in the night,
Never in the light,
Swoops & soars,
Pounds on windows,
Creates fear when he roars…

I hear him at my bedroom window,
Trying to get inside, with each wind gust he does grow,
Stronger he is when the wind from the northwest does blow,
The leafless trees do shake & shiver out of fear,
With each gust he gets nearer & near…

His strength more powerful on children so dear,
He plies his fear to all that to him can be steered,
He gathers them up in groups so eventually he can of them sheer,
Only has he since the nuclear age appeared,
He thinks he is by all & everyone revered…

Only of the children does he frighten,
He has a deep moan that some adults can hear,
His moan like that of a saddening lament,
Ignore his wail as with our ignoring him,
He will go back to his lair in hardened cement…

The wind howls,
like a frozen actor,
but in the cold of winter,
don't forget the wind chill factor.

Your buddy is right. While you're all comfy in your heated cabin, fearing night creatures that go bump on your window in the cold wind, there are real creatures out there suffering without protection from that wind just waiting till the night in the cold wind are over.

On the other hand, a great little poem from your inner induced mental fears. Now go scare some children with your stories.

Imagine the poor critters out there in that cold, cold wind - and all alone.
