The Windy City...they ain't kiddin'

We traveled to the windy city in the winter of 2000, and loved it no end, think we may have our second home...

“THE WINDY CITY…they ain’t kiddin’

In February we did go to Chicago,

I had been there before,

But for Rene’ it was her first visit,

We had a nice room in a Holiday Inn,

Dinner the first night in the room,

Was a wonderful addition.

The view from the window,

Of the downtown skyline was,

Suffice to say magnificent…

We visited the observation floor,

Of the Hancock building, number 94,

And the Navy pier with all its shops,

So much nicer than the first time I was there,

When the pier was nothing but street people and cops.

Of course we bought souvenirs,

Tee shirts are my thing,

Funny ones and presents for friends at home,

We also loved the Planetarium dome,

And its location on the lake,

Even in winter with snow on the ground,

And ice in the lake and surround,

We found a second home,

Where we know, we could roam and roam,

And still have things to do,

That are always new.
