LONG BEFORE suv’S…

long before suv’s,

jeep stood alone positively,

Known throughout the world,

as long as they existed,

they have been herald.

long before suv’s came into play,

jeep was the only 4x4 worth buying,

no “exploders”, expeditions or excursions,

No blazer, 4 runners, or xterra’s,

Jeeps were the only suv of their day.

I have owned one since 87’, when it was still amc,

a Cherokee then, with a 5 speed box,

never did it give me reason to throw rocks,

she took me cross the country & back,

several times without so much as any slack,

she kept me warm, safe & comfortable,

could sleep in the back, & store stuff on the roof rack.

now the proud owner of a 95’ grand Cherokee,

took me through an accident, airborne I was,

without so much as a minor cut had I, that day,

since being rebuilt, she has run the gamut,

blizzards in western pa,

beaches in nc & florida,

off-roading with camp jeep in Missouri,

and I have to say,

how damn proud, I am, of my grand, today and everyday!
