'The Poet's Dream'
If there's some other place,
Where thoughts resist
The pleas of poets to speak,
And reveal how they consist
Of dreams that might be born,
If only they were seen
Then let me find them now,
So I can rest my fevered brow
Let them flow serene,
In meaning, depth and style,
Or on the pages dance between
The frenzy to express emotion,
Or give me some peace a while
To ponder and reflect,
What might be,and yet,
If I can confess
There's dreams that cannot wait,
But must escape
To leap upon a page,
And pass beyond the poet's mind
To show the world what can't be seen,
Except in thoughts where poet's dream
You are so right about a poet's need to write. We can't let our thoughts go unsung. They must be released and revealed in poetry or prose. When they leave our minds and are placed on the page, the whole world can see what we are thinking. Simply wonderful.
