A reflection, a plea to remember.

If you think to remember me,

In the cool nights of autumn

Or the hot days of summer,

When moments are dreary passing

Then there surely must be,

An echo, a drift, a promise that died

Or some part of us,

That never truly left

But lingers somewhere,

In the random stir of other worlds

That might intrude and clash,

In the protest to exist

In the realms of what-ifs,

Or might have been

That lie in frozen regret,

That yearns to be again

In the passing of relentless time,

That dances in the shadows

Flitting between the then and the now,

And will not fade

Like the blossoms remembered,

In the fields of glory

Those sun-kissed days of youth,

That paint the dreams of ageing years

A very moving expressive poetic tapestry of life past and present. We all have regrets to certain levels of degrees. We should also consider endings that would have caused a much more disastrous result. This will help to lesson if not eliminate the need to regret. Well done! JMD

So filled with colorful words that convey so much what most of us go through. And as we age, the wonder we will be remembered at all. One way to be remembered as we remember those wonderful days of our youth, is to write beautiful poetry like this that will linger on the Internet long after we are gone to be picked up by occasional readers and thought about who we were.
