'The Promise of our Days'
All that remains of our days,
A promise that never died
Persuasive and elusive,
Unrealized and unreal
From another time,
Receding into the distance
We cannot extinguish,
Those fires that burned
In our hearts,
That music that played
Can it be for someone else,
In some other place
Can we endure,
The fragments of our dreams
That we lived and loved,
Fade gently away
Rather our hearts protest,
The meaning of us
That promise that never died,
Linger indelibly
And crash against the shores,
In waves that shape
The landscapes of existence
With passion and completeness
