Placed in a cauldron

With too tight a lid.

Left to simmer

Till steam was all gone.

Thoughts were done in,

Cooked till little was left.

Managed to rethink

With what remained.

As long as you have a little,

You can expand what you have.

A thought is not finished,

Till the cook has gone.

Funny how life is

When it's confined.

You do what you can-

Surprised at what you find.

George, could 'Confined' be a result of Sandy? Your last two lines reveal the surprise of our imaginations and creativity. I am relieved to know Sandy could not blow you away with her winds or flood you out with her torrential rains. I wish you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael

I LOVE THE LAST VERSE THAT SUMS UP EVERYTHING; WE ARE INDEED SURPRISED AT WHAT WE FIND...WHEN CONFINED. THANK YOU, GEORGE...

Yep, just keep pushing, wriggling from where you are and doors will open for you and light will show you the way. There is never a wall that can't be breached if you have the right attitude. There's never an empty pot that cannot be refilled.

Beside Still Waters by Jill Eisnaugle

Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
