Many are the thoughts that escape me,

As I ponder with pen in hand.

As a simple poet, thoughts are essential

To convey the essence of a poem.

Having been to many Countries

At the behest of my government.

Fighting a war that had no end,

As far as history can recollect.

Yet there were snap shots

Left in my mind of where

My footprints had trod on foreign land.

Wonder of wonders I lived through it.

But that's another story to be told,

And is not  the thought I'm having now.

Well the idea I was going to mention

Has escaped me, so this is the end.

That brief idea you had caught my attention. It seems you are shaped by war, because where you went was at war.

My thinking has been shaped differently. While I did visit countries that were under martial law and fearful of government failure, I was enchanted by the people, their lifestyles, ambitions, and generally, peaceful and friendly nature.

As a result, I love the people of the world in all their colors. I resent leaders who continually force their power and greed on their own people and think war is always an option to pursue.

Questions, unquestioned discoveries, and answers in parable and rhyme…. This collection records a journey starting with a 1960s retrospective and the first man on the moon, moving to a new millennium welcomed in with a terrorist spin, family crises,
