If you have no thought at all,

That is a good start for a poem.

For whatever comes to you

Will be fresh and hopefully new.

Nothing like becoming repetitious,

To ruin the novelity of thought.

For like a good painting needs

Originality to set it aside from the bland.

So good writing also must attract

The reader to something new.

A ho hum thought will not appeal,

Unless it leaves the reader wanting more.
