There's a saying where I come from… Sh*t Happens. It always has and always will. We are living in the best time, ever. We do have to curtail all of our immense wealth going to the very rich or there will be disaster as we all become impoverished in spite of wealth increasing. We can and will do that so that everyone will feel that they have a piece of the pie and freedom, in spite of what all the pundits like to scare us with.
When it happens to you and I, it's sad. When it happens is someone out there that we don't know among 7 billion souls, I don't think we should take it personally. That's a heavy load to bear because things like this have always been happening to people since time began. We didn't take on the load when we didn't know about it, why should we take on the load now?
Your last two lines say so much about what is going on with our textbooks in our schools. It seems that history has been re-written. Now, if I'm wrong, please let me know. Thought provoking poem indeed!
