She was the joy of my life.

How fortunate was I to have her.

I met her when I was but a teen

And she was just short of one also.

We seemed to hit it off with each other,

And to many places did we go.

The war came along and we parted,

But the years seemed to go fast.

As soon as I received my discharge papers,

I bought a ring for my to be wife.

She said yes when I proposed marriage,

And two months later she was my bride.
