There is a King
enthroned inside
the cardinal chambers
of my heart

Day and night on my knees
I scrub the palace floors clean
of ego, envy, hatred, anger
and fear

The surrounding courtyard gardens
offer only the finest blossoms
fragrant with the aroma of love and peace
to garland His neck

Vespers bells chime
fresh and pure as
dew falling on Mount Kailash
I sit near His tender feet
with my lute
and chant His holy name
