Today it felt as if the
weight of years
was bearing down upon me
weathered wood of my cedar red body
sags and groans
gnarled, twisted, arthritic branches
leaning on young bamboo canes
heavily plod the earth
as I stopped to take a breather
on a park bench I looked up at the sun glinting
through the tree tops
sweet strains of a sublime bhajan
written by an equally divine soul
Srinivas Raghavan
wafted toward me from the ethers:
Remind me my lord
Remind me my lord
Remind me my lord who I am,
I am Aum, I am Aum, eternal Aum
Through this life of distraction, and of illusion,
remind me my lord who I am,
I am Truth, I am Peace, Divine Bliss,
Ananda swaroopa, hey prema swaroopa,
remind me my lord who I am,
I am Love, I am Love, Pure Love.
Gently, I nudged myself
“Sonya Ki never forget this truth!"
We are so much more than these
fleeting, ephemeral bodies!
The sap of eternal life runs expressly
through our arteries and veins
The universe is our celestial playground
We leap over stars and slide down the moon
unlimited, boundless, ever free!
