Naughty Bougainvillea
flash
their gypsy red burgundy parasols
like Creole maidens
from New Orlean French Quarters
their wild beauty
adorns Floridian gardens and
ocean courtyards
But, they are no match for
the Queenly Gardenia
Her soft, ivory, alabaster bosom
exudes a scent found only in Paradise
As she unfolds her exquisite, royal,
Saraswati petals
I wait blushing with bated anticipation
for a whiff of Heaven itself
lol Ron, sorry gardenia causes you to break out in hives. That's a sure turn off. Bougainvillea is fabulously, visually beautiful. But her roots claw deep into the earth and are impossible to remove. She has a thorny, tempestuous body and a willful nature which if not tempered can take over the garden.

I'm rooting for the bougainvillea like those I saw adorning wealthy compound walls in Karachi. As far as the scent of gardenia goes, I believe that is the ingredient in women's perfume that gives me the hives every time I smell it… Ugh!
