Unveiled

We had all wanted safety
to transition us on.
We asked, and so did she.

I gave my word as we passed
single file through
the machine-gun path.
But we had the diamond
to protect those who
did not yet stray.

Where, oh where.
Where, oh where.

There!

I could not believe the scene.
Rocking station in misappropriation,
the raped girl too scared to scream.

The veil became transparent to me,
and I quickly let it out.

We were surprised,
to say the least.
The mother of friends,
not exactly whom she seemed.

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.

43 Haiku and 4 poems of a Wayward Sailor by Mike Walling

Haiku of a Wayward Sailor” encompasses both haiku and poems. Many of the haiku are based on my experiences at sea.
