Living in the now...

No More...

There are no more yesterdays,

— All neatly packed — lost dreams

Crushed into small painted boxes

Are in the cellars of my heart...

There are no more minutes gone

Where guilt ate at my soul;

Errant love choking breathless

Makes reason for existence

In this fragile life of one...

There are no painful tears shed

For enemies with sweet smiles;

Of cruel thoughts and subjective whims,

— Self inflicted injuries on fair skin —

In an isolated room of lost thought.

There is only now, and from now

There; and from there to nowhere,

For love flows where awareness sows;

And glows where all action grows!

It is only with the heart that one can see rightly, I believe. What is essential to humans is often invisible to the eye. In my life I've come to understand that most hearts are connected by the slenderest of threads. As I see it: being true to yourself is requisite for creative and emotional health. I have enjoyed your poetic contemplation. Thank you for sharing. Peace...rlc
