Broken, matured love
Cup of Love Mature love's drops on a well used cup, Chipped and cracked by many a quarrel; Linked together with platinum thread — And sweet kisses — meaning I Love You! From generation to generation Of changing hands an heirloom became — A given life's flash, — the sweetest tea Ever to be made in this cup now! © — Carol Phelan Aebby

It does seem that quarrels sometimes make love grow deeper, for some reason. That cup certainly brings back memories, both good, and bad.

And there is certainly a difference between infatuation and mature love, hammered out while living life and all of its pitfalls and joys.

A conundrum: What the grandchildren should do with Grandmas antique china. As you've revealed in this piece, there [can be] poetic insights, and fine sentiment in heirlooms. I imagine, as long as we live, our memories will live, and they will always remain a part of us when we remember them. A fine insight, Carol, that lends itself to various interpretations. Enjoyed.
