Young love finds me in old age, can not seem to turn that last page

I woke with cold sweat running down my face
touched your warm body kissed your lips of grace

I heard noise behind me and I turned to find you standing there

a ghost of my past with long and flowing hair

my mind it is feeling that lonely stair

and I wish it was true and life had brought you to me

but it is four in the morning and it is only the bottle that sets you free

I woke with cold sweat running down my face
touched your warm body kissed your lips of grace

Fingers dance in the mind of the wind and I can see you as you picked him

a ghost of all my used to bes playing in the background of my memory

all the life we live inside cover with the feeling of youth and pride

dance the last dance with me in the mirror your voice I see

I woke with cold sweat running down my face
touched your warm body kissed your lips of grace

Cold and lonely I walk the winter wind and hear your footsteps

playing softly within the world that we shared

see like the haze long and flowing hair

my mind calls you back to me

dreams of hope and used to be

I woke with cold sweat running down my face
touched your warm body kissed your lips of grace

I heard noise behind me and I turned to find you standing there

A ghost of my past with long and flowing hair

my mind it is feeling that lonely stair

and I wish it was true and life had brought you to me

but it is four in the morning and it is only the bottle that sets you free

Lord have mercy why can’t I let your memory be
a passing thought of me set the passion and the ghost free

hauntingly beautiful...."it is only the bottle set you free"
days such as today tend to bring up some of the best and worst of them which in most cases are the same person.....
