The House is empty without its Whore; Gone the Wine by which lovers swore; Mighty men have no heart for war Since Babylon is fallen!
The Candle's Light shines no more therein; The Voices of Pipers and Prophets shall end; No fruit of her lusts; nor souls of men When Babylon is fallen.
Weep and morn, oh ye loveless Kings; Lament for her, lust's delicate Queen; Bewail her, wave from afar, lost dreams Cause Babylon is fallen!
