What More (a song, with a link to audio)

by Jeff Mason — Read all 207 poems by Jeff Mason

[NOTE: KEEP IN MIND, I AM A *W-R-I-T-E-R*, NOT REALLY A SINGER, SO FOR ME TO ATTEMPT TO SING THESE I'VE WRITTEN... well, Don Henley or Trisha Yearwood clearly would do a much better singing job on these. :)
The concept here is to have just a truly deep, emotive, SHORT song (10 lines, in this case), no repeats, no real chorus, etc.; just short & to the point, so if you'll forgive my sinuses & the fact I am using an analog mic on a digital system, then you should be able to feel how this might come out, with the appropriate piano and/or guitar and/or orchestral music behind it. And, yes, maybe some musical breaks & bridges, to extend it. As-is, it is about a one-minute song, but with bridges and breaks, could be extended further. Happy Easter to those who celebrate it!

What more can I do…
To show you I love you?

What more can I say…
To let you know I need you,

Every day.

What more will it take…
To keep you loving me…

Forever and ever…

For Heaven’s sake…

What more will it take?

Jeff, this is good. For some reason, I was expecting a blues rhythm, but it is faine the way it is...and your voice is fine...hell, when I try to sing, all the damn dogs on the block start howlin'

Hello Jeff, short and to the point. My wife is spoiled enough though, I dare not sing this to her. by the way, don't quit your day job. G

Bill, actually this is a "concept song," and I already have a number of songs published and recorded by "lesser-known" bands. I do appreciate your critique though. The point of this song is to be short and to the point, and after all, a song, like a poem, is the creation of its author. Many blessings to you, my friend; I look forward to working with you. I will eventually share some of my published songs. -- Jeff

I basically agree with Bill Murray on this, Jeff. Beautiful words, though the song is short, but the music needs some work.
Don't give up, though.
MY applause to you, too.

Jeff, a very good try. Voice was a little hard to understand, and it is not quite a song yet. But you are close to it. And I applaud your attempt. Keep working and trying and in a few hard years at it you will be surprised how far it will take you. Happy Easter.
