Picture above is Cade's Cove, Great Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg, TN. This is one of my most cherished places in the universe.
Lift me up,
above disdain...
in rising mists;
your gentle rain;
that touch full scope
of all the unknown morrows,
fluttering; uttering --
wisdom's jewels;
that wash away insipid stain,
and drain --
my well...
of all my hidden sorrows.
in liquid moments;
falling down,
with faintest hint,
of calming sound --
to saturate this ...
an arid, dying ground;
as I do long...
for your wet kiss;
that in your moisture,
I might gladly drown...
That I might hear
your inmost thoughts...
in priceless drops --
your endless sky has bled;
And in the moment
of your final revelation...
to know...
your soul to me --
forever --
has been wed.
And let me soak,
in mirrored pools of you,
as chutes
of inner growth be said;
bespoke;
like boldest ferns;
in hosts of weeds,
that rise above
impending dread.
A garden grown --
on strength of stone
instead;
once heavy soul,
your upward winds they carry --
to places where
our visions ere have fled;
to wake as one,
where jasmine
raindrops mingle;
in sweetest taste --
the fallen leaves,
our bed.
