As you stole my breath with your every smile.

For your strength, and your manner so tender and mild.
The touch of your hand taught my mind, ever learning…
Transformed to maturity from only a child.
Your voice made my thoughts explode; passions churning
From pleasant and tame to incredibly wild.
The cleft of your chin and the scent of your skin,
The shape of your face and the silk of your ear,
Made me long to hold you and breathe you again,
And kept every mem'ry so indelibly clear.
The words that you posed in your poem and prose
Birthed unbridled joy and mirth from each tear.
The song of your rhyme and the lilt of your verse
Made me ache inside just to hold your soul near,
And held fast to my heart, that was once torn apart,
Now trembling with love and safe from all fear.
