There beside the fireplace
Sits a stack of my whole life
Poured out to you in tear-stained ink
Filled with emotion, pure and rife
The words I wrote, straight from my heart;
But these letters I'll never send
Because I want much more from you
Than you are willing to spend
I never thought the cost of love
Could ever be so high
That you'd be so afraid of this:
This priceless love that you deny
But you'd rather run away,
Than take this chance to live
And I want so much more from you,
Than you are willing to give
So the words have all been written
And our time can't be unspent
And I'll wait beside these unheard dreams,
In all these letters never sent.
