Treasure Found

by Jeff Mason — Read all 207 poems by Jeff Mason

I'm not really stuck on the word "found" (the title of my previous poem). :) This just happens to be a short one I sent to a friend yesterday - a friend who has encouraged me along the way, even amidst some adversity. This one is not marked for meter, it is just composed of raw thoughts and feelings.

Tuesday, July 27, 2004

There will be a time,
when you sit in darkness,
surrounded by silence,
and see my words appear like light,
inside your mind...

And you will know that,
to you my dear,
I've never been...
anything but kind.

That you to me,
have been a friend,
I'll never regret
I took the
chance to find.

And when you look back,
I believe you'll feel the same...
because one day -- memories --
are all that we'll have left behind.

That day will come to all of us - but it will hopefully take a while until then.
Treasure what you have right now.
Good one.
