I said goodbye ... now, you know it's over;
I've known it for a long, long time...

We had so much in common, it hurts so bad;
But loving you was my biggest crime;

I wrote the letter I gave to you,
To remind you just where I'm coming from...

I knew when you stopped caring, too...
But, you see... the hardest part... is yet to come.

When you read that note and recall my tears,
You'll know I never gave up on you...

But you gave in to all your fears,
Because you just couldn't see this through.

You gave up on us, it's clear,
And I never knew just what to do.

I savored each moment I held you near;
The easy part was loving you...

I wanted so bad just to be wrong,
You'll never know how much you mean to me...

But you let go - and I'm not that strong,
I really wish that you could see...
