bridge - Inspired by Deb Richards
by Jeff Mason — Read all 207 poems by Jeff Mason
This is a sort of picture of "after" I've written/revised and, at the bottom is the "before" that Deb sent me, which inspired the poem. Note: Read this from the female perspective.

On the edge of reason,
my contemplation centered on erotic images,
invading my every thought;
in desperate want of a repeat...
of what was...
and what I hoped was yet to be.
my conscious thoughts merged
into reflections
of a mirrored image
of a willing victim;
explicit thoughts whispered in my ear,
as a bed was formed just by the thought
of such a throbbing, swelling need
for me to satiate my wanton hunger;
for he to dive into his fervent exploration,
full and hard and deep inside of me;
He... the hunter;
Me... the prey, although willing - not unwitting.
I awoke, now soaked in somber silence;
seeking pleasure that would somehow define my need to be;
a satisfaction to fulfill a deeper sense of me.
A stranger's compassion fought the demons
that lived far inside of me,
holding me against my will;
yet bringing my body to a newfound understanding;
explaining all the things
that had been happening to me.
A flurry of kisses
all over my body
pulled me into him,
grabbing me... and drawing me ever closer,
as two vacuous spaces
became one vibrant epicenter,
with violent eruptions of passion existing everywhere;
all at once;
a ruptured dam had finally burst into
a rushing waterfall;
flooding every single nerve with sudden ecstasy...
and as the ebb and flow of tides of torrent
died but to a distant, pulsing ache...
I cried... tears of joy
in knowing that at last...
I had crossed the dreaded black abyss;
and that, from now on, I held the key
to cross again,
no matter what... may be at stake.

On the edge of reason my contemplation of erotic invaded
my thoughts of a repeat of what was and what will be,
my conscious thoughts seeped into a mirrored image of an
willing victim, whispering explicit thoughts in my ear, as
a bed was formed just by the thought of a swelling need to
give into its exploration of me,
I awoke in somber seeking a pleasure that increased my need
to be, to fulfill a deeper need in me,
Strangers compassion fought my demons inside, holding me against
my will my body was came to an understanding to explain it to me
A infernally of kisses all over my body pushed me into him,
grabbing me closer, as two spaces became one,
Passion exist everywhere
A sensation of water
