Immaculate Emasculation

by Jeff Mason — Read all 207 poems by Jeff Mason

I know some women in this situation: contolled, with very little freedom or privacy; feeling powerless.

Wednesday, February 9, 2005

well and good,
and in among
the thickened wood,
he so thought he hung
the very moon;
and kept discov'ring;
excavating,
~~~~~~
plying layers,
finding faults
in every single thing
she did
~~~~~~
and he was fully culpable
but never truly accountable,
there;
glistening...
surface gloss,
~~~~~~
never listening
to all the loss
that we was causing;
~~~~~~
sheltered
by the shadow
of his own
enormous ego...
~~~~~~
with painted leaves that stuck
to his discerning palate;
pretense far beyond the reach
of any
stated common reason;
~~~~~~
regret belies the undercurrent
surging there
as if to speak of treason;
no, not ever satified
by any;
not even she in fullest season...
~~~~~~
logic undefined,
and her sweet ardor
shunned;
a countenance so deft;
refined
~~~~~~
captive...
never captivated by
his controlling
overbearing eye...

So true, Jeff. And control is just another form of abuse. Thank you for sharing this meaningful message in poetic expression. Love and peace to you. Regis

Control and love, don't mix. Wires get crossed and somehow, some people associated "letting go" with desertion, instead of true love...

Jeff,

You may have saved many lives today through the power in your compassionate words. An excellent write--terrible what some women go through...I pray your friend sees the light.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

There are many of them out there Jeff..I had one of them one time, His presence didn't last long, he had to go. And go he did.
Hope your friend sees the light, nobody needs to be controlled.

You managed to paint a horrible situation with graceful words. The story unfolds clearly, like a blooming rose dying on it's stem.

Perfect description, but very sad. Too many endure such things.
So I loved Judy's review.

It is a sad situation but yesterday I sent a man back to where he came from post haste. He reminds me of this type of fellow. Don't like dealing with this type of character.
