Breaking My Will

by Jeff Mason — Read all 207 poems by Jeff Mason

... some things... we just can't resist

Tuesday, May 8, 2007

This is a good day in hell...
Go ahead; admit it... you may as well...

I'd rather make love with you than sleep
I'd rather talk with you until all hours...
and this moment, ALWAYS, I will keep!

and yes, you DO shake the very foundations of my reality...

You're not exactly where you think... you want to be.
And... as much as we think we need something;
the ones who sometimes hurt the most
are often those who THINK they have what they really need.

i've never asked you for anything... but friendship
i know a piece of your heart; but i'm just now getting to know the whole you

You are [SUCH] an amazing person!

and... there are these [chances] that people have - maybe once-in-a-lifetime;
and if we don't take them,
they may NEVER come again!

you know you are... my weakness... you always have been
you do something...to me; for me...
that you don't even realize the depths of...
and i simply have this tiny hope that i do the same for you

i wish that we could touch... just now

i'm dying just a little inside... (in a GOOD way)
dying to be with you... again
dying to feel you... skin to skin;

and this amazing,
pulse-raising...
thing that we both share...

i would not give up a single moment of it;
not one second of time i've spent with you - it's priceless to me

how could i help but fall in love with you? we don't choose who we love; love somehow chooses US.

you know... until i met you, i didn't laugh near enough... and now i smile and laugh freely
you take me places that i've never been; so far away; somewhere out there... and then back again, and far beyond the reaches of anything i have ever known!

and you HAVE to know you fill me up... completely...
you are my reason for waking every morning after all;
you make my world make sense again,
at last, someone to truly break the fall.

and i would die to hear your voice... soft in my ear...
whispered breath that quells my deepest fear;
and i so thirst to taste your tongue
that saved me from an empty death;
and i now know... my life... has only just begun

I know exactly what you want;
And I know that I fulfill your needs...
I am that lightning spark on which your hunger feeds.
I am the fertile ground on which to sow your seeds.

i love the things you do to me!
your love could never be untrue to me...

i am so swept away...
and i refuse to be kept away... from you

but damn this foreboding, mocking distance;
for here we've been left -- again --
profound... so pure; bereft of sin...
drowning here amid the dark
numbed within this painful, reverberating din
knowing that our love's the selfless sacrifice; once again.

searching for a way to keep our hope in sight
seeking answers to the question: what is wrong and what is right?
looking for the path to shine so clear our own true light.

My God, you know that you so fully capture me!
you encompass ALL I could ever hope to have or be.
my spirit now is so submerged, entwined in ecstasy with thee...
I feel that I would die if your eyes i could no longer see.

I just do NOT exist without your vibrant presence here;
I'm not complete without you; I hope that's crystal clear.

You complete me in ways in which I never knew I needed to be completed!
I finally feel that my breath has a purpose; that my life has full and true meaning.

I cannot 'pretend;' it simply is not in my nature!
If I were to pretend that I don't love you and that I don't need you,
then I would be living a lie; a mere mockery of existence.

So… here am I, irrevocably bound to you,
please do with me...
whatever your heart would have you do.

You are the music that my heart sings…
You are the hope to which my soul clings.

no promises are left that i should now fulfill
no empty roads with miles of nothingness to kill
You are the candle forever burning in my fateful windowsill
and with every flicker i believe you know

that you are so... effortlessly... breaking my will.

Am totally with Belle at the bottom of the page, Jeff... RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!! The pace, the exhilaration, the 90-miles an hour engine-running on adrenalin race-of-outpouring of-heart-and-mind... they're all here in this wonderfully charged write. What I especially like, notwithstanding the heart-bursting energy, is the lucidity and control with which you express these express-train thoughts... This is not the casual effusive statements that are lightly felt and lightly dealt... Oh no!! These are the considered, well-judged and finely-tuned responses of a highly ordered and rational mind to the alchemy of the love-hormone. Which has a far more powerful effect. And the final line is an absolute corker... The nicest "do what you want with me!" imploration that I have ever heard... born out of a relationship of trust and surrender. Breathtaking, Jeff. My heart and ears are pounding! :)) LOL Kate xx
