The Yearning

by Jeff Mason — Read all 207 poems by Jeff Mason

...and the pulse of two shall beat as one

Tuesday, July 31, 2007

I find that my thoughts,
as they so often do...
invariably and wonderfully...
unexplicably...
they turn to you.

You have coiled yourself,
in most deft serpentine fashion,
around the very substance of my soul.
You are ensconced inseparably...
within every cell that ever has been a part of me.

I have experienced my catharsis;
now I am cleansed
of all that might encumber me
from moving out of darkness, into the light...
one day, at last, to be with thee.

I cannot sleep but that I dream of thee.
I cannot wake but that I wake to endless thoughts of thee.
I cannot breathe, but that I long to breathe my breath with thee.
I cannot sing, but that I sing to vivid memories of thee.
I cannot whisper, but that I wish to feel the whisper of thy breath... on me.
I cannot live, but that I live...
in hope...
that one day you shall be with me.

Very good and read your comment to me where you say you are at a standstill at this point in time. You will find your way and are amazing writer and I have to take more time to read yours. Bonnie May, my good friend put a poem on Den for me and deceased husband and is just waiting in mail for photo to come in mail to her to post. Hope you read the poem and see us. Lois

Jeff, I've read several of your romantic poems and feel a sadness & heart rendering within my soul. I so want you to make it to happen for you two.

Anyone who loves this desperately, perfectly, deserves to be with his beloved.

This female muse you always write about Jeff is very intriguing to me. The way it affects you, and provokes you, is extraordinary.
