Soulspeak

by Jeff Mason — Read all 207 poems by Jeff Mason

The title easily is a play on words: “soul speak” and “souls peak!” Mainly the first connotation, where two like souls speak; they are on the same “frequency,” so to… speak; and even when they cannot exchange words, their spirits converse, across the ether, each to the very core of the other’s being… and, in so doing, both souls reach the very pinnacle of their potential love and existence, therefore the souls do, indeed, “peak” as well as “speak”.

you... have opened up a door to me; your heart;
maybe not intentionally, it's only just a start;
a matter of due course. some would call it fate;
this endless unseen force, crafting love on barren slate;

i'd rather be held captive by you, than wander aimlessly in the dark;
you captivate me endlessly, you do, with brilliance bold and stark
the moods that you instill in me are colors i've never dreamed
places i never thought i'd see... my love, through you, redeemed.

you are the breath my soul has not yet known
but wished so long that i'd be shown
a candle with a flame that tends me,
sends me full… with fire so free;
inflames my deepest, furthest clime,
in frames that hold us still in time,
as if the world has disappeared
and now there's -- nothing -- to be feared.

So… here is what I truly want:

I want to taste the nectar of your spirit's bliss; to touch you deeper than the skin,
to feel your passion’s perfect kiss… invite my yearning essence in
to the place your fondest dreams reside;  where all your secrets safely live
with your darkest whispered fears you hide; as yourself to me… you freely give.

I want to live with you in perfect peace... fulfilling all your spirit’s needs
To know that purest full release… from a love that plants undying seeds
A love complete that knows no bound, stronger than the hardest steel
Without judgment; sure and sound; feeling all the things you feel
The two of us in passion’s throes; drained beyond the final drop!
Wanting still, as flames subside… our heartbeats twain to never stop;
And if our flame should wane to embers; this fire, one day, not quite so bright
This fire shall burn forever steady; eternal flame through harshest night

For heights of love together sown, in places only we have known
Without a single spoken word, every breath -- to each -- is clearly heard.

You seem to hold an artist's palette, and have painted this with the colors of romance and beauty and love.
How lovely you write!
Blessings,
Christine

I would say, without a doubt, that you have touched on the essence of communicating to women what they would like to hear in a poem. If you recited this poem before a large crowd of women, you would have them swooning in the aisles… Trust me.

Although I have expressed them differently, I have nonetheless shared these feelings, meanings, and thoughts because I am familiar with them and to me, they "speak" of true love in a relationship. Thank you for sharing, Jeff. Love and peace,

Regis
