the lion
craves the lamb;
salivating uncontrollably,
eyes piercing
through the lamb
even before
the pounce.

the lamb deceives.
it is not a lamb,
but a hunter
in lamb's clothing.

man shall be king,
dominion over all;

the lion never saw
the bullet
that pierced
its thundering heart;
and all for want
of a gentle lamb;
deceived.
